“Faintly Blowing” é o segundo álbum de estúdio da banda britânica Kaleidoscope, lançado pela Fontana, em abril de 1969.

Este grupo inglês, apesar de não ser tão popular como os Kaleidoscope dos EUA, também foi uma banda do movimento psicadélico com um sucesso nacional moderado, e com alguma exposição internacional, uma vez que o LP foi suficientemente reconhecido no género e considerado como um dos melhores no estilo.

"Faintly Blowing" é sem dúvida um disco fantástico e verdadeiramente genuíno de Folk Psycho britânico, com melodias harmoniosas e excelentemente interpretadas. É um disco que integra música de muita qualidade que nos dá realmente vontade e prazer de escutar.

Kaleidoscope foi uma banda inglesa de rock psicadélico com actividade entre 1967 e 1968, liderada por Peter Daltry. Foi uma das bandas inglesas mais prometedoras da época psicadélica. O seu álbum de estreia “Tangerine Dream" foi lançado em 1967, tendo sido muito bem recebido e apreciado pela comunidade “hippie”. Em 11 de abril de 1969 lançam este segundo álbum “Faintly Blowing” que aqui apresentamos.

Formados inicialmente em 1963 sob o nome de The Sidekicks, passaram a chamar-se The Key em novembro de 1965, e pouco depois Kaleidoscope, quando assinaram um contrato com a editora Fontana em janeiro de 1967. Publicaram os dois álbuns referidos e nos finais dos anos 60 voltaram a mudar de nome, desta vez para Fairfield Parlour, mantendo a mesma formação, tendo gravado o álbum "From Home To Home", em 1970.

The Viscounts foi um trio vocal britânico, de típicas harmonias fáceis, com um estilo do qual os Beatles rapidamente se afastaram. 

O trio era constituído por Gordon Mills, Paul Don e Ronnie Wells. 

O som do grupo era uma adaptação exclusivamente britânica do rock ‘n’ roll, misturando música pop e tradicional com guitarras e bateria, formando um mescla beat. 

Anos mais tarde, um dos elementos do grupo, Gordon Mills, conseguiu uma vida bastante confortável como “manager” tanto de Tom Jones como de Engelbert Humperdinck. 

Ficaram conhecidos por alguns êxitos como, Shortnin' Bread (1960) ou Who Put The Bomp (in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp) (1961).

"The Bee Gees 1st", apesar do título do LP, é na realidade o terceiro álbum de estúdio do grupo The Bee Gees. Foi no entanto o seu primeiro álbum a ser lançado internacionalmente, uma vez que os seus dois primeiros LPs só estiveram disponíveis na Austrália e Nova Zelândia. Lançado em julho de 1967, Bee Gees 1st também foi o álbum de estreia da banda com o selo Polydor, no Reino Unido e com o selo Atco, nos EUA. Reflectindo o estilo inicial do grupo, "Bee Gees 1st" pode ser considerado um álbum de rock psicadélico. A capa do álbum foi desenhada por Klaus Voormann que já havia feito a capa para o álbum “Revolver”, dos Beatles. "Bee Gees 1st" alcançou a posição nº 7 no top da Billboard Pop Albums e o nº 8 no UK Albums Chart.

The Bee Gees foi uma banda pop do Reino Unido formada pelo irmão mais velho Barry Gibb, e os gémeos Robin Gibb e Maurice Gibb. Nascidos na Ilha de Man e tendo pais ingleses, moraram apenas alguns anos em Chorlton, Manchester, Inglaterra. Os irmãos mudaram-se ainda crianças para Brisbane, em Queensland, na Austrália (onde gravaram os seus 2 álbuns iniciais). Fizeram sucesso desde 1966, sendo um dos grandes grupos que mais vendeu discos no mundo. Passaram por altos e baixos na carreira e por diversos ritmos musicais, do rock clássico ao pop, passando pela "disco music" e pelo country.

The Best of Mickie Most And His Playboys is the first-ever compilation of those South African recordings, and the only release so far that covers Most's pre-production career. This disc contains 30 tracks recorded between 1959-1963 but released between 1962-1964.

Mickie Most (20 June 1938 – 30 May 2003) was an English record producer, with a string of hit singles with acts such as The Animals, Arrows, Herman's Hermits,Donovan, Suzi Quatro and the Jeff Beck Group often issued on his own RAK Records label.

Mickie Most was born Michael Hayes in Aldershot, England, but then moved with his family to North London. As a teenager, Most became entranced with the British rock and roll scene and formed the Most Brothers, in which he covered American R'n'B numbers. In 1959 he emigrated to South Africa for two years and fronted the rock-focused Mickie Most And His Playboys, a group that again covered U.S. hits of the era. While in South Africa, the band managed to record and release three albums and a number of EPs and singles.

Most became a star and was taught the recording business. The band managed to score 11 consecutive number ones on the South African charts and rated considerable attention on the international music market, and when Most returned to England in 1963, his reputation earned him a place that would eventually make him one of the mid-'60s most in-demand record producers, producing hits for such bands as the Animals, Herman's Hermits, Jeff Beck, and many more. The Best of Mickie Most And His Playboys is the first-ever compilation of those South African recordings, and the only release so far that covers Most's pre-production career. This disc contains 30 tracks recorded between 1959-1963 but released between 1962-1964.

 Though mainly comprised of straight cover versions of rock and roll hits of the era, there are a few tracks included in this set that were either written by Most or given special Most arrangements which varied considerably from the original version. Most handled all of the vocal work, production, and guitar on these recordings, but the Playboys were mainly studio musicians and many of the recordings feature a very young Jimmy Page on guitar.

The Zombies are an English rock band. Formed in 1961 in St Albans and led by Rod Argent on piano and Colin Blunstone on vocals, the band scored US hits in the mid- and late-1960s with "She's Not There", "Tell Her No", and "Time of the Season". Their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle, comprising twelve songs by the group's principal songwriters, Argent and Chris White, is ranked 80 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
