Los Amigos de María was one of the best hard rock bands of Chile. They were formed in the second half of the 60’s and under the name Los Diferentes they released some singles more in the style of sof beat ballads than rock. They also become a backing band for others under the name Grupo Resurrección and Los Amigos de María, specially for the US singer Dean Reed who recorded some singles with, showing a new rock-styled vein. Finally they release a LP simply entitled “Rock” in 1973 which became one of the compulsory items for Chilean rock collectors thanks to the long original 10 minutes psych Zeppelin-styled masterpiece “Vuelve a comenzar”. Well, the myth says EMI released this album in 1973, but it was really recorded in 1968.
